I pulled out this super old maxi dress and wore it as a pool cover up.  This probably means that it's on its way to Goodwill, which is fine because it's seen better days.  You know it's time to let go of shit when you start trying to find ways to wear it to the pool and it's not really meant for that.  My husband does the same thing except his excuse for hoarding old clothes is that he might need it to "cut the grass one day" or "wash the car." 1) We don't own a lawnmower, 2) now that we're in a condo in L.A. we don't even have grass to cut, and 3) you cannot throw a stone without hitting a cheap car wash nowadays.  #hoarder.

Anyway, I wasn't sure if we'd end up somewhere else after the pool, so I grabbed the vest too because it made me feel more dressed, and there you have it guys - summer layers.

Every Summer I decide I need an orange dress so I go buy a new one.  It's really dumb.  I should just invest in a really good one, but I never do.  Instead, tell myself I'm going to wear it all the way through November, because orange is also a Fall color, but it never happens.  So then, I wear the same one all summer long and get so sick of it that by the time next Summer rolls around I decide I need a new one.  Introducing this year's orange dress, a flowy shimmery number from H&M.  I do really love it, so here's hoping this one will make it through more than one season.

When I bought this dress it had no slit, so I took some scissors and made one.  As much as I love Pinterest, and the occasional furniture DIY, I realized through my trials and tribulations with my sewing machine that when it comes to anything more than a simple hem, ain't nobody got time for that.    Anything more ambitious than this slit, and I would probably have ended up here.

Is it a jumpsuit? Is it a dhoti? Nope, it's a maxi dress, and possibly my most favorite one ever.  Bonus: it works when you're 7 months pregnant too (oh yes I did).  It does absolutely nothing for your body but make you feel like the stylish flowy angel goddess that you are.  Best.  Dress.  Ever.
