Top: Prabal Gurung x Target
Pants: 12th Street Cynthia Vincent
Shoes: Aldo
Clutch: Lauren Merkin

Neon accessories have staying power.  So does this shirt, and I can't figure out why.  It's very "of the moment" but I can see myself wearing it for years to come.

These boots are like Michael Jackson meets Dolly Parton.  Now that would have been an interesting musical collaboration.

Top: Gap
Pants: ASOS, old
Bag: Kate Spade
Sunglasses: Chloe

It's like, I get dressed every morning and dare myself to wear one inappropriate (meaning fashion-forward) item to the office.  Just to see if I can get away with it.  Usually I have a great explanation ready, just in case anyone asks or raises an eyebrow.  Not even I could lawyerify these shoes though.  This is one case where even navy can't keep them SFW.

Neons on neons: goodbye summer

Tuesday, September 10, 2013

Sweater: BCBGeneration (similar here)
Skirt: Local boutique (love this and this)
Shoes: Rebecca Minkoff
Bag: Louis Vuitton
Sunglasses: Chanel
Necklace: Express, old

Summer is technically over in most parts of the country, but I'm giving all these neons one last hurrah together before I start continue wearing everything with black and/or leopard print.

Citron Knit

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Sweater: BCBGeneration (similar here, here)
Skirt: ASOS
Necklace: Express (old)
Sunglasses: Fendi
Rings: ASOS

I believe the color of this sweater is "citron" and I can't get enough of it right now, especially in my favorite silhouette - shapeless and slouchy.  I like it so much (the sweater and the color), I did the mullet half-tuck into a pencil skirt for work so that it appeared somewhat neat from the front.

Dear neon trend: I hope you never go away. xo.

Bright statement bag

Friday, July 19, 2013

Shirt: Zara
Shorts: Nordstrom
Shoes: Steven
Bag: Kate Spade
Sunglasses: Chanel

Here go those shorts again.  This time with this obnoxiously bright hot pink bag that I love.  I don't own anything else this color, so for me it's one of those accessories that matches nothing, therefore goes with everything.  A "statement piece," if you will.

Neons

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Dress: Dorothy Perkins (old, similar version here)
Clutch: Lauren Merkin Louise (similar here, another cool one here)
Watch: Cartier
Shoes: Christian Louboutin

I wore this outfit for my birthday dinner and drinks night.  There's nothing necessarily unique about a peplum dress.  These days, you can find them everywhere, at any price.  But this one really caught my eye because of the neoprene fabric and the high-low peplum effect.  It's the little details that make it something different than just your standard LBD.  It was also the perfect canvas for my neon obsession.  Between my lips, my nails, and my purse I don't know which was more blinding, but the overall effect made me happy and kept it fun.
