Finally found a pair of floral pants with a color combo and fit that don't literally look like pajama pants on me.  That's just a look that I personally can't pull off, although I think it looks fabulous on Rihanna and some other people.  Everything is not for everyone.  These have enough black (or is it navy? I can't tell and it doesn't matter anyway) in them to work for fall and winter too, so I think they'll hang around in my wardrobe for a long time.

Next time an article of clothing you own starts to get really played out, take a page from J. Crew's book and bedazzle it.  A little artfully placed bling can do wonders for almost anything; even the refusing-to-die chambray shirt.

More basics with a twist.  Truly helpful on weekdays like this, where I had about 15 minutes to get myself ready, and then another 5 minutes to take these pics before rushing ourselves and our two kids out the door.  I did throw a black blazer on too (well not really ON, but I threw it in the passenger seat of the car).

This is the best way I could come up with to get away with wearing studs and spikes to the office.  On an otherwise conservative cardigan, these spikes are actually pretty harmless.  Throw in a shirt buttoned up to my neck and a pearl necklace and it's all work-appropriate to me.  I could have gone the blazer route instead of this cardigan, but why not push the envelope a bit?

I love studs, it's no secret.  These shoes are all business in the front and party in the back, so they compliment my studded collar without being too matchy-matchy.  By the way, if you haven't tried Blank Denim yet, go get yourself a pair.  Or two.  Or three.  You definitely could at that price point.  They are high quality, great fit, and made in the USA.  I have at least 5 pairs, but I have my eye on these, these, and these.  Happy weekend!
